Arbutus Society
The generosity of our donors deserves to be recognized. And when people let us know that they have included any IU campus, school, or program in their estate plans, they are invited to join the Arbutus Society.
Informing us of your plans is a good idea for several reasons. First and foremost, it lets you ensure that we understand your wishes so that your gift will be used exactly as you intend. Second, it allows the IU Foundation and the University to make note of your gift as we plan for the future. Finally, it lets us honor you and show our appreciation by including you in the roster of donors to Indiana University and in recognition groups such as the Arbutus Society.
Named for the official flower of Indiana University, the Society organizes an annual event exclusively for its members. During the year, members are also invited to lectures, exhibits, receptions, performances, and other special events.
Some IU schools and programs have giving societies to recognize their donors. Inclusion in any of these qualifies you for membership in the Arbutus Society as well:
- Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington Heritage Society
- Indiana University School of Nursing—Ethel P. Clarke Legacy Society
- The Center on Philanthropy—Rosso Society
- Indiana University School of Medicine—J.O. Ritchey Society
- Indiana University School of Liberal Arts (Indianapolis)—Joseph T. Taylor Heritage Society [PDF]
